Study From the Book of Zephaniah,4

Study From the Book of Zephaniah, 4

Today is the fourth part of the series “Study From the Zephaniah.”  Today we will study chapter three, the last chapter of the book.

Chapter three has two topics: from verse 1 to 7 is studied under the title of “The Wickedness of Jerusalem.” From verse 8 to the end of the chapter talk about the faithful remnant. As mentioned before this book is a prophetic book talks about the end of the age after the rupture of the church, what is called “The Day of The Lord.”

Again, the Day is the Lord consists of night followed by day time. The night time is the great tribulation, the seven years that follow the rupture, ends by the judgement of the living and the beginning the 1000 years millennium, when the Lord Jesus reigns

Our two biblical principles are in the second passage that talks about the earthy blessings of the Israelites when the Lord Jesus reigns, but also about the spiritual blessings that we have as believers at the time being.

Principle 5 ( verse 3:9) “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the Lord, to sever Him with one accord.”

Lesson 5: God multiplied human languages at Babel in order to frustrate human arrogance (Gen 11:9). However this verse talks about something different. It is a prophatic verse when the Lord Jesus reigns. But also  can be applied in the living church when people with many nationalities meet together. They come to worship God in one language to sever Him in unity and humanity. He longs for a close relationship with us.

Principle 6 (verse 3:17): “ The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty God One., will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with signing.”

Lesson 6: God rejoices over us, though He knows,  we are in the process of becoming all that He has planned for us to become. We are not yet what we will be when we step into the eternal presence of God. Until that time, God patiently is molding and shaping us into the image of His son.
