Study From the Book of Zechariah, 13
Today is the thirteen part of the series “Study From the Book of Zechariah.” As mentioned before the last four chapters of this rich book of the Bible talk about the end of the age, the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the establishment of His kingdom. However our interest is to pick up biblical principles that can be applied in biblical counselling to solve the problem of livings of the counselees.
This chapter divides into two parts: the cutting off of the idolatry from verse one to verse 6. The second part talks about the savoir of the world from verse 7 till the end of the chapter.
Principle 25 verse 13:1: “In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.”
Lesson 25: God often uses a fountain to illustrate Himself as our source of salvation. As a fountain, He refreshes. And as a fountain, His love must be individually taken in. In the current Church time, the blood of the lamb cleanses us from our sins and our uncleanness.
Principle 26, verse 13:7: “Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, against the Man who is My Companion...”
Lesson 26: This verse is a prophetic verse talking about the crucifixion of our Lord to redeem us from our sins. Think of it: the Lord called for the sword against His Son, Jesus Christ. He planned the events of the cross. He willingly bruised His only Son. And He did that for us.
