Study From teh First Epistle of Paul to Timothy,3

Study From the First Epistle of Paul to Timothy, 3

Today we continue in studying this pastoral epistle of Paul to Timothy, where we study chapter two and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

In this second chapter, the apostle Paul first instructs praying for all men especially those who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence. He then declares the plain truth that we only have one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

He then concluded this chapter by giving advice to men and women in the Church.

The structure:

Verse 1: 7: Pray for all men

Verse 8:15: Men and women in the Church

Principle 3: verse 2:3, 4: “God our Savior ...desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth.”

Lesson: 3: the Lord does not celebrate the need to judge wicked people and send them to hell, but the opportunity to redeem people and bring them to heaven. He opens wide the doors to His home.

Principle 4: verse 2:5 : “ For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

Lesson 4: Contrary of what the liberals say, three are not five mediators between God and men, or three or even two. There is only one, and His name is Jesus Christ . No one else qualifies, and God accepts no one else. Only Jesus has the necessary credentials.   8/12/2019
