Study From the Second Peter 1
Today is the first part of this series where, as usual, we start with the introduction. In the first Peter, the Apostle deals with problems outside, whereas in the second letter, he deals with problems from inside, to warn the believers about the false teachers who promote damaging doctrine.
He starts by urging his brothers in Christ to keep a close watch on their personal lives. Christian life demands living and pursuing moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance and godliness.
In contrast, the false teachers trying to seduce the believers. They are arrogant, greedy. They do not mention to them the future judgment if they continue in sinning. And that their current prosperity will continue for ever.
In contrast the Apostle reminds the readers about the longsuffering of God , that will not continue for ever. Ultimately, that judgement will come.
The Apostle does not want the Christians to forget that the Lord Jesus is certainly will come back to earth in power and great glory, brining both His judgements and His rewards with Him. So the believers in Him should live in a godly, blameless and steadfast manner.
