Study from the Book of Second Corinthians, 9
Today we study the 8th chapter of this vital epistle of Paul in this 9th part of the series and as usual we look at a couple of verses and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
Chapter 8 and also 9 deal with the blessings of giving and how the apostle Paul expressed this blessings to the Corinthians.
However chapter 8 can be divided to three main topics as follows:
Principle 15, verse 8:5 : “- And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.”
Lesson 15: God is not after our time or our talents or our bank account. He desires us. He already owns the world and everything in it as in Exodus 19:5 declares. So the only thing we have that He wants is our hearts.
Principle 16: verse 8:9: “- For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”
Lesson 16: In heaven, Jesus is rich through the love He shares with the Father and Spirit. On earth we were poor in our estrangement from God. Jesus emptied Himself on earth so that we might be full rich in heaven. Halleluiah. 27/01/2019
