Study from the Book of Second Corinthians, 8
Today we study the 7th chapter of this vital epistle of Paul in this 8th part of the series and as usual we look at a couple of verses and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
Before that, we look at the main topics of this chapter which can help us as we read through.
Chapter 7 has three main topics:
Principle 13, verse 7:1: “- Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God.”
Lesson 13: The promises of God are meant to lead us to purity of life. The promises of God are always conditional. That means we need to be holy and to live in the fear of God.
Principle 14: verse 7:10: “-For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
Lesson 14: Sorrow that does not lead anywhere has no value. Sorrow for the sake of sorrow comes from the devil, not that of God. Godly sorrow leads to repentance, salvation and life; demonic sorrow leads to death. 20/1/2019.
