Study from the Book of Second Corinthians, 7
Today we study the 6th chapter of this vital epistle of the Scripture in part 7 of the series and as usual we look at a couple of verses that can be applied in biblical counselling with lessons from them.
Before that, we look at the main topics of this chapter which help us as we read through.
Chapter 6 has two main topics:
Principle 11, verse 6:2: “- For He says.”In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you,” Behold , now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Lesson 11: Paul recalls what Isaiah says in 49:8 that now is the time for salvation. Not a minute later as there is no guarantee to live longer in life and one could lose his eternal life if he/she delays. And also, why would anyone want to delay the joy that comes through the vital relationship with God?
Principle 12, verse 6:14: “-Do not equally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”
Lesson 12: This verse usually gets quoted in reference to choosing a marriage partner , and while that is certainly a legitimate application, marriage is not the context here. All of life is the context.
