Study From the Book of the Second Corinthians,2

Study From the Book of the Second Corinthians, 2

Today is the second part of this series, where we study chapter one of this important epistle of Paul.

Chapter one deals with the following topics:

  1. Verse 1 : 2: greeting.
  2. Verse 3: 7: Comfort in sufferings
  3. Verse 8: 11: Delivered from suffering
  4. Verse 12:14: Paul’s sincerity
  5. Verse 15: 24 (the end of this chapter): Sparing the church

As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be used  in biblical counseling.

Principle 1: 1:3,4 “ --the father of mercies and God of all comfort….comfort us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble…”

Lesson 1: when trials hit , we can always be sure that God will come to our aid. Why? because:

  1. It is His nature. He is the father of mercies and the God of all comfort.
  2. He is training us to comfort others.

Principle 2 : 1:21,22: “- God … also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”

Lesson 2: God has sent the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts as something of a down payment on the whole package of salvation. He is God’s “earnest money” to remind us that He will certainly complete what He started. 9/12/2018
