Study from the Book of Second Corinthians, 14
Today we study the 13th chapter, the last chapter of this vital epistle of the Scripture and as usual we look at a couple of biblical principles with lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
Before that we look at the main topics of this chapter to help us as we read through.
Chapter 13 has three main topics as follows:
Principle 25, verse 13:3: “-Christ ...is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.”
Lesson 25: Some mistake the grace and love and patience of the Lord Jesus for weakness. When He does not immediately respond to rebellion with discipline, they feel encouraged to sin more boldly. But Paul warns us never to confuse God’s love with weakness.
Principle 26, verse 13:15: “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in faith. Test yourselves. Do you know yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?
Lesson: 26: Despite the Corinthians’ problems, Paul does not believe that they have trusted Christ “in vain.” He sees their genuine spiritual gifts, their repentance, their love for God, and he wants these things to encourage them to further growth. 3/3/2019
