Study From the Book of Romans,5

Study From the Book of Romans,5

Today is the fifth part of this series, where we study chapter 4 of this vital book of the Bible. As usual we will pick up a couple of biblical principles that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Chapter 4 generally talks about faith. We are justified by faith not by our good deeds, although good deeds will come later as a prove of faith.

Chapter 4 has four main topics:

  1. From verse 1 to 4 the apostle Paul talks about Abraham justified by faith.
  2. From verse 5 to 8, the apostle Paul talks about David in the OT and how he applied the same biblical truth.
  3. From verse 9 to 12 the apostle Paul talks about Abraham justified before the circumcision
  4. From verse 13 to the end of this chapter, the apostle Paul talks about the promise to Abraham granted through faith.

Principle 7, verse 4:3: “For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him righteousness.”

Lesson 7 : Paul used the example of Abraham, who lived long before the Mosaic Law, to show that the only way for any sinful person to come into a right relationship with God is by grace through faith.

Principle 8: “...being fully convinced that what He had promised He was able to perform.”

Lesson 8: God never promises us anything that He cannot deliver. Do we believe that? If we do then, it only makes sense to put our complete trust in Him, regardless of how dark our circumstances might appear.
