Study From the Book of Romans,4

Study From the Book of Romans,4

Today we continue in studying the book of Romans , chapter three. There are three main topics in this chapter that can be outlines as follow:

  1. From verse 1 to 8, the apostle Paul continues to talk about God’s judgement
  2. From verse 9 to verse 20, the apostle Paul talks about the fact that we all have sinned and need God's grace
  3. From verse 21 to 26 the apostle Paul talks about God’s righteousness through faith in the Lord Jesus
  4. From verse 27 to the end of this chapter, the apostle Paul warns against boasting of the Jewish.

As usual we are looking for a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Principle 7 , verse 3:20: “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

Lesson 7: God gave His people the law so they could understand the grace, not so that they could try to “earn” their way into His favour. The law shows us our sin; it doesn’t empower us to overcome it.

Principle 8, verse 3:22: “Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For, there is no difference (gentiles and Jews).”

Lesson 8: This is the grace of God that even when we are sinners, do not deserve, the Lord Jesus died for us and redeemed us from the penalty of sin which is eternal death. Accordingly we live in the time of grace. Soon this time will be over and there will be judgement for those who refused the gift of God (Jon 3:16).
