Today we continue in the study of the book of Romans as we study chapter 14. In chapter 14 the apostle Paul continues in providing practical advices for the believers to live godley lives which honour the One who died for them to give them eternal lives.

Chapter 14 has the following topics that can be titled as follows:  

1. From verse one to 13: the law of liberty
2. From verse 14 to the end of this chapter: the law of love.

As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that are suitable for biblical counselling.

Principle 27: verse 14:8: “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die; we are the Lord’s.”

Lesson 27: Everything we do should reflect well on the Saviour who bought us with His own blood. Even the way we die should witness to the goodness of Jesus Christ. Every moment of every day we belong to Him.

Principle 28: verse 14:23: “—for whatever is not from faith is sin.”

Lesson  28: We are to live our lives relying on the power of grace as it comes through faith. If we are not sure that something we would like to do honour God-if we cannot do it in faith –then we should refrain.
