Study From the Book of Romans,13
Today we study chapter 12 of this vital book of the Bible and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical lessons and principles that can be applied in biblical counselling.
Chapter 12 has three main topics as follows:
Principle 23 verse 12:2 “- And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Lessons 23 counselling is the business of change of thoughts, behaviour and feelings. The hardest bit is the change of thoughts.. God does not want us to sin less (behaviour) but to be dependent upon the Holy Spirit to be transformed into people who love to please Him through willing obedience. That transformation begins with the mind.
Principle 24 : “So being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”
Lesson 24: Apart from the 12 charismatic gifts of 1 Corinth. 12-14, there are also service and ministry gifts, which the apostle Paul is talking about them here. Prophesy is included here for its importance besides teaching, leading, giving, showing mercy and being cheerful. The last one is also regarded as a gift. Members of church are given different gifts to serve the Lord and each other. They should work together in harmony for the glory of Him who died for them to give them eternal life.
