Study From the Book of Romans,11

Study From the Book of Romans, 11

In this part eleven of this series, we study chapter 10. Chapter 10 (like chapter 9) also talks about Israel, and how they need the gospel, but they rejected the good news and still believe they can be saved by deeds of obeying the Law of Moses.  The apostle Paul says ,Cleary without doubts, no one can be saved by the deeds but indeed by faith, and whoever calls upon the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) will be saved and has eternal life, whoever a Jew or a gentile. However faith comes by hearing the Word of God through the Scripture. This is a general theme of this chapter although the apostle Paul talks primarily, about Israel and its salvation in this chapter.

This chapter contains two main ideas that  can be titled as follows:

1.      From verse one to thirteen: Israel needs the gospel.

2.      From verse fourteen to the end: Israel rejects the gospel.

As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Principle 19, verse 10:11,13: - For the Scripture says, “whoever believes on Him will not be put on shame.”... For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Lesson 19: This the gospel the good news .Any one who puts his faith in Christ will be saved and will receive eternal life. The good deeds will come later as the result of salvation as the book of James tells us.

Principle 20, verse 10:17- “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God.”

Lesson 20:  Everything we need to know in regard to salvation-what it is, why we need it, how we can receive it- can be found in God’s Word. God  blesses us when we hear His promises and respond in faith to them.
