Study From the Book of Romans, 10
Today we study chapter 9 in this part of the series. Chapter 9 has four topices. All of those talk about the Israelites and how they rejected Christ when He came primarily for them. However there is a hope at the end as the remnants will be saved at the end of the age and return to Christ after the rapture of the church and the great tribulation.
Chapter 9 has four main topics can be summarised as follows:
As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
Principle 17, verse 9:3: “-For I could wish that I myself were accused from Christ for brethren, my countrymen according to flesh.”
Lesson 17: Despite his frequent ill-treatment at the hands of his Jewish countrymen, Paul had an intense desire that they come to faith in Christ and so experience the new life available in Him. How keen do we want people to know Jesus?
Principle 18: verse 9:15: “ -For He says to Moses, “’I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.’”
Lesson 18: God blesses people with His grace and mercy, not because they deserve it but because of God’s nature to give grace and mercy. Neither grace nor mercy can be worked for, they can only be gratefully accepted.
