Study From The Book of the Philippians, 5
Today is the fifth and final part of the series, “Study From the Book of Philippines.” And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling. As mentioned these principles and lessons are either applied as self-help or in counselling others.
Chapter four is the masterpiece of this epistle. As mentioned it was written by the apostle Paul while he was in house-bound prison in Rome. The message of the gospel had reached out even to the palace of Caesar.
In chapter four, the apostle Paul, encourages the believers to live in joy and unity. He then encourages the mindset full of biblical principles. He applauded the Philippians’ generosity. Then he ends this epistle by greeting and blessing.
The structure of this chapter is as follows:
Principle 7, verse 4:6 “-Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, , with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God...”
Lesson 7: Anxiety wanes and eventually disappears when we take our concerns to the God who has the power and the wisdom to take care of them, believing that He always has our best interests at heart.
Principle 8, verse 4:8: “- ..whatever things are true , whatever things are noble , whatever things are just, whatever things are pure ...mediate on these things.”
Lesson 8: If we ponder our mind with worldview principles, our thinking will end up soar, pessimistic and negative. In contrary, of we see the world as God sees it we will end up with happy thankful minds. 14/7/2019
