Study From the Book of Micah,9
Today ,the 6th of August 2017, we study the final section of the last chapter of this rich book of the Bible. In fact all the books of the Bible are rich and full of important biblical principles as the writer of Hebrews says in verse 4:12, “ For the word of God is living and powerful. And sharper than any two-edge sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The passage we study today to pick up a couple of biblical principles is from verse 14 to 20. Prophet Micah talks about the end of age after the repentance of the Israelites as a nation and return to God with the reign of The Lord Jesus (the Moring of the day of the Lord that we studied before in previous books of the Bible). However it carries important spiritual blessings and principles for us now as believers as we live in the time of Grace. Where is an excellent chance for every sinner to repent and enjoy the eternal life that the Lord Jesus promised for those who believe in Him. This passage deals with the blessings of God’s forgiveness.
Principle 15, verse 7:18: “Who is God like you, pardoning inequity, and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His Heritage.”
Lesson 15: God has never under any obligation to forgive our sins or pardon our iniquity. We do not deserve His mercy. But He loves us and sent His son to die for our sins. Who, indeed, is a God like that?
Principle 16, verse 7:19: “– You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”
Lesson 16: When God forgives us in Christ, He does not merely turn His back on our sins or force Himself to overlook them. He deals with them radically and once –and –for-all, removing them from us forever. You can ask why? The reason for that is God “has laid on Him (the Lord Jesus) the inequity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6). The Lord Jesus paid the price of our sins which is by his death on the Cross, so God does not take the price twice.
