Study From the Book of Micah,7

Study From the Book of Micah,7

This week, we study chapter 6 of this rich book of the Bible. Chapter six has two sections. Section one is from verse 1 to 8, where  prophet Micah talks about God pleading with Israelites, wanting  them to repent and remembering them the miracles and wonders that He done for them for example getting them out from the bondage of Egypt. The second section, from verse 9 to the end, deals with the punishment of Israelites’ injustice as they continued to sin. As usual we look at a couple of biblical principles that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Principle 11, verse 6:8: “What does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”

Lesson 11: here the Spirit of God through Micah simply says that the internal belief should be reflected on external behaviour. To be a “good Christian” requires more than personal devotions and a warm feeling inside. God wants us to show the outside world what He is doing inside of us and that takes humble, merciful, just action.

Principle 12, verse 6:14: “You shall eat, but not be satisfied; Hunger shall be in your midst. You may carry some away, but shall not save them; and what you do rescue I will give over to sword.”

Lesson 12: This is the result of continuing on sin and refusing to repent. Basically there will be no blessings. Eat but not satisfied. Save money but taken away. A warning message for us all.
