Study From the Book of Micah,6

Study From the Book of Micah,6

Today we study chapter 5 of the book of Micah to pick up a couple of biblical principles that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Chapter 5 main idea describes the coming messiah, the Lord Jesus in His first coming when he came in flesh and born in Bethlehem. Also Micah extends his prophesy further   to the Lord Jesus’ second coming when He will reign in the millennium at the end of the age.

Principle 9 (5:2) “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Through you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are of old, From everlasting.”

Lesson 9: In this golden verse Micah prophesied, around 700 years BC , the first coming of the Lord in flesh when He was born in Bethlehem. He is the everlasting God appeared in human. The same principle when Jesus told the Pharisees, “ Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58), He was simply restating what Micah said here, that the Messiah would be the eternal God come to earth in the flesh.

Principle 10  (5:4), “And He shall stand and feed His flock...in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God.”

Lesson10: During His earthly ministry, Jesus practically applied  this verse when He said, “ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11-14).
