Study From the Book of Malachi,4

Study From the Book of Malachi,4

Today is the fourth part of the series , “Study From the Book of Malachi.” As mentioned before the book of Malachi was written after the Israelites (the Southern Kingdom only as the Northen kingdom been taken to exile for good by the Assyrians) returned from the exile and settled in their land. It is the last book of the OT, before the silence of the Scripture for around 400 years.

Chapter 3, which is the focus of this part, is divided into three sections. The First one prophesied about “the Coming Messenger”, John the Baptist who came before and announced the coming Messiah(the Lord Jesus). It is from verse 1 to verse 7. The second section deals with another different topic which deals with “the Tithe and the Offering,” from verse 8 till verse 15. The last section deals with “A Book of Remembrance”  from verse 16 to the end of the chapter.

As usual, we will pick up a couple of biblical principles that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Principle 5 verse 3:6: “ For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Lesson 5: Our God is immutable, meaning that He never changes. He operates on eternal, unchanging principles- and that is why we can build our lives on His promises.

Principles 6 verse 3:16: “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard them...”

Lesson 6: None of us are ,in this walk of faith, on our own. We need to encourage one another to” stir up love and good works” (Hebrew 10:24). Best of all, the Lord promises to reward such healthy obedience.
