Study From the Book of Jeremiah, 47
Today is the 47th part of this series where we study chapter 47 of the book of Jeremiah. Here there is one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in Biblical Counselling.
Philistines and Phoenicians are associated through their origins among the sea people who came from the northern Mediterranean Crete (Caphtor) to the coastline of Israel in the twelfth century B.C. Gaza and Ashkelon were the last of the Philistine stronghold to fall under the Babylonians as the judgement of the Lord had reached its end.
N.B The what is known now as Palestine was founded by the Romans in 132 A.D to overcome the revolution of the Israelites against the Romans whom attached it to Syria to tighten the control of Israel. When the Arabs invaded the land, they occupied Palestine as they occupied Syria. However, in 1948 A.D Israel was established as the Jewish state and has continued to be a sovereign country according to the promise of God that He will preserve Israel as in Jeremiah 30:10,11 and the previous chapter: 46: 27,28.
