Study From the Book of Jeremiah,43
Today is the 43rd part of this series where we study chapter 43 of the book of Jeremiah. Here there is one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in Biblical Counselling.
The people had already intended to go to Egypt to escape the perceived danger of Babylon. Azariah and Johanan spoke out against the counsel given by Jeremiah. And Johanan led the migration to Egypt against the direction of the Lord through Jeremiah. The caravan journeyed as far as Tahapanhes, the city on the eastern edge of the Nile Delta.
Severe judgement is pronounced on Egypt, including judgement to the disobedient people of Judah. The judgment was extended to the temples of Egyptian gods and goddesses.
Structure:
Verses 1-13: Jeremiah taken to Egypt.
Principle 67: verse 43: 6: --“But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces took all the remnant of Judah…and Jeremiah the prophet and Naruch the son of Neriah. “
Lesson 67: Jeremiah told the remnant not to move to Egypt, but they disobeyed and moved anyway-and took him along the ride. He suffered for their disobedience. By faith- he had nothing else-Jeremiah expected God to vindicate him.29/09/2024.
