Study From the Book of Jeremiah,30
Today is the thirtieth part of this series where we study chapter 30. Here, there is one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in biblical counselling.
Jeremiah prophecy went beyond the return from the exile to the millennium when the Lord Jesus will reign for 1000 years. This prophecy although it is not for us as it is for the earthly promise for Israel but it can be applied to us when we return from sins to God who will free us from the bondage of the Devil.
So, after the people of Israel return from their sins and worship the living God, God will cause them to prosper with children and fertile crops. God will raise up a messianic king from David’s line to rule over the nation.
Israel would enjoy rest and tranquillity in the absence of external and internal distress. The quiet, security and ease result from trust in the Lord. The restoration and healing of Israel come in two forms, retribution against its enemies and healing of its wounds.
Structure:
Verses 1-24: Restoration of Israel and Judah.
Principle 48, verse 30:11: --"I am with you, says the Lord, to save you, though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will make a complete end of you. But I will correct you in justice, and will not let you go altogether unpunished.”
Lesson 48: Complete and total forgiveness of sin does not necessarily mean complete and total eradication of consequences for sin, Jesus forgave the thief on the cross and gave him eternal life, but the thief still died.30/6/2024.
