Study From the Book of Jeremiah,19

Study From the Book of Jeremiah,19

Today is the Resurrection Day in the Western Church, so I wish you all a happy and blessed Easter. Today also is the nineteenth part of this series where we study chapter 19. Here, there is one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in biblical counselling.

God would allow Jerusalem to be made an object of derision and humiliation in order to vindicate His name. After years of siege resulting in severe famine, the people would resort to eating human flesh in order to survive. This prophecy was literary fulfilled in 586 B.C. when Nebuchadnezzar invaded Judah, and again in A.D.70 when Titus destroyed Jerusalem.

As pottery breaks into pieces when it is thrown on the hard ground, so God’s judgement would shatter the city and scatter those dwelling there. Restoration would be impossible. The number of corpses would outnumber possible burial sites at the Vally of Hinnom, a dumping area where children were ritually sacrificed in the days of Manasseh.

.

Structure:

Verses 1-15: the sign of the broken flask.

Principle 32 verse 19:10:    --"Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you----.”

Lesson 32:  the wages of sin is death. God hates sin but loves the sinners wanting them to repent and turn from their sinful ways. However, if people continue to sin, God judgement would shatter them and sometimes restoration would be impossible.
