                             Study From the Book of Isaiah,55

Today is the fifty-fifth part of this series where we study chapter 60.  And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

In this chapter, the prophet Isaiah looks to the end of the age when Christ will reign from Jerusalem over the whole earth for one thousand years after the tribulation and the great tribulation. The temple and Jerusalem will be built in a glorious way.  Isaiah mentions a glimpse of the characteristics of that time when he says   for example, in verse 11 to the remnants of Israel , “You shall drink the milk of the Gentiles and milk the breast of kings. You shall know that I, the Lord, am your Saviour and your redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Moreover, Isaiah extends his prophecy to the future of all of God’s people in eternity when he says in verse 19, “The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you. But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory.”

Structure:

Verses 1-18:the Gentile bless Zion.

Verses 19-22: God the Glory of His people.

Principle 105, verse 60:19“—The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness the moon give light to you; but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.”

Lesson 105: John tells us that the future New Jerusalem, there will be  “no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it” (Rev 21:23).The glory of God will illuminate it, he says and “the Lamb is its light.

Principle 106: verse 60:22, “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”

Lesson 106: The inhabitants of the new Zion will be prolific. These prophases will come to pass, and in their times, God will hasten them. 5/6/2022
