Study From the Book of Isaiah,60
Today is the sixtieth part of this series where we study chapter 65. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter prophet Isaiah continues to talk about the judgement of the Lord. So apart from the Gentles who accept the salvation declared by the Lord Jesus and the remnants of Jewish people who will accept the Lord’s salvation, the rest will be subject to judgement. Those who walk in the way that is not good who do sacrifices to the idols. Those who say to God, “keep to yourself. Do not come near me.” Verse 5.
Isaiah then talks about the glorious new creation. At the millennium when the Lord Jesus reigns for 1000 years, the curse of the earth will be lifted. So, “For the child shall die one hundred years old.” Verse 20. They build houses and inhabit them. “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together. The loin shall eat straw like ox.” Verse 25. “It shall come to pass that before they call I (the Lord) will answer” verse 24.
Structure:
Verses 1-116: the righteousness of God’s judgement.
Verses 16-25: the glorious new creation.
Principle 115, verse 65:18“—But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy.”
Lesson 115: Our God is surrounded by joy, and He plans to bring all of us into His happiness forever. It is just as Peter quotes David from Psalm 16 “You will make me full of joy in Your presence.” Acts 2:28.
Principle 116: verse 65:24,” It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
Lesson 116: Although this promise was written to the people of God in the millennium at the end of age, it has application during the present time. The people of God who accept Lord Jesus as their Saviour, they become children of God. God answers their prayers as swiftly as it is written here. 10/7/2022
