Study From the Book of Isaiah,54

Study From the Book of Isaiah,54

Today is the fifty-fourth part of this series where we study chapter 59.  And as usual we pick up one biblical principle and lesson that can be useful in biblical counselling.

In this chapter God speaks through the prophet Isaiah that the sin of His people separated them from Him. However once the sin is confessed with repentance, God will resume His relationship with His people.

Isaiah then talks about the redeemer of Zion. God saw no human-being can do this job. As He says, “He saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor, therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him.” That means it is through the Lord Jesus when He came to earth, brought salvation to the human-beings by dying on the Cross to redeem them of their sins.

Structure:

Verses 1-8: separated from God.

Verses 9-15: sin confessed.

Verses 16-21: the redeemer of Zion.

Principle 104, verse 59:2“—But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”

Lesson 104: God may refuse to hear our prayers when we stubbornly refuse to abandon some sin or evil course of action. Peter says, for example, that husbands may hinder their prayers by treating a spouse with disrespect (1Pet.3:7). 22/5/2022.
