Study From the Book of Isaiah,52
Today is the fifty-second part of this series where we study chapter 57. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter, Isaiah says that Israelites continued to struggle with idolatry even with the warning of God that it would be futile and would lead to the exile and grave consequences. He then mentions that even though,God continued in His grace and deliverance with healing for the backsliders.
Structure:
Verses 1-13: Israel’s futile idolatry.
Verses 14-21: healing for backslider.
Principle 101, verse 57:1: “— The righteous perishes, and no man takes it to heart; merciful men are taken away, while no one considers that the righteous is taken away from evil.”
Lesson 101: We never know until heaven, how many godly men and women have died early in life as a result of God’s grace. He takes some home so that evil things might not touch them.
Principle 102, verse 57: 15“-I dwell in the high and holy place. With him who has a contrite and humble spirit...”
Lesson 102: The Lord longs for an intimate relationship with us. Time spent in communication with Him is the best way to grow close to Him, as we recognise His majesty and our own need. 1/5/2022
