Study From the Book of Isaiah,49
Today is the forty-ninth part of this series where we study chapter 54. As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this salvation oracle, the Lord promises Zion that He has not forsaken her, but will give her many offspring. Zion is a barren woman who gives birth to numerous children. Zion is a forsaken wife who receives an everlasting covenant of peace.
In the second part of this salvation oracle, the Lord addresses devastated Zion, first promising the rebuild city greater glory than before and then protection.
Structure:
Verses: 1-17: A perpetual covenant of peace.
Principle 93, verse 54:8: “With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer.”
Lesson 93: God calls us to obey Him so that the Lord may turn from fierceness of His anger and show us mercy, have compassion on us and multiply us. He wants to do us good not harm.
Principle 94, verse 54:17: “-No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgement, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteous is from Me, says the Lord .”
Lesson 94:the tongue that speaks propaganda is one of the weapons of war. The Lord will condemn the accusers of His people.10/4/2022
