Study From the Book of Isaiah,48
Today is the forty-eighth part of this series where we study chapter 53. As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons
that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In chapter 53, the prophet Isaiah prophesied of the Lord Jesus’ suffering and His death for our sins. The Saviour Jesus came to suffer
and die for the sins of others. Grief, pain, sorrows and sickness then death refer to the consequences of sin. The people considered Christ to have been smitten by God because the Law said “he who is
hanged on the tree is accursed by God” (Deut.21:22-23).
