Study From the Book of Isaiah,46
Today is the forty-sixth part of this series where we study chapter 51. As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter. God comforts His people (Israel) of the near salvation. This salvation is reflected on God’s mighty in creation and also manifested from His mighty to rescue them from the exile in Egypt and from the second exile in Babylon. The prophecy extends further to the end of the age when God rescues them after the tribulation and great tribulation.
In these times, God’s fury will be removed from His people because of their repentance. And His judgement will be re-directed to those who oppressed them.
Structure:
Verses 1-16: the Lord comforts Zion
Verses 17-23: God’s fury removed.
Principle 87, verse 51:5 “—My righteousness is near. My salvation has gone forth.—My coastlands will wait upon Me. And on My arm they will trust.”
Lesson 87: the coastlands like the exiles wait for the Lord. The verb translated wait has to do with confident expectation and active hope.
Principle 88, verse 51:12 “-----I. even I, am He comforts you--.”
Lesson 88: God does not leave us comfortless. He always comes with words of hope and mercy. His goal in allowing hurt is not to break us, but to teach us to draw close to Him in times of heartache and extreme pressure.20/03/2022
