Study From the Book of Isaiah,42
Today is the forty-second part of this series where we study chapter 46. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter, God through Isaiah contrasts His might against the Idols. Babylon’s idols like Bel or Nebo need to be carried and can be a burden for the animals which carry them. These heavy idols that were to bring deliverance were themselves dragged away into captivity.
In contrast the God of Israel, our God who “even to your old age, I am He and even to grey hairs I will carry you. I have made and I bear. Even I will carry and I will deliver.” (Verse 4).
Structure:
Verses 1-13: dead idols and the living God.
Principle 79, verse 46:4 “—Even to your old age , I am He . And even to grey hairs I will carry you”
Lesson 79: We grew old but God never does. He is the “Ancient of Days. “But He remains as strong to sustain us today as He was in the days of Paul or Moses or Abraham or Noah or Adam.
Principle 80, verse 46: 9,10 “----- I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things that are not yet done---”
Lesson 80: According to some estimate, almost thirty percent of the Bible concerned future events at the time it was written. God declares to us “the end from the beginning” so that we might trust both Him and His Word.13/2/2022.
