Study From the Book of Isaiah,39
Today is the thirty-ninth part of this series where we study chapter 43. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principle and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter , the Lord commands His people not to fear “Fear Not.” He is the redeemer of Israel and the redeemer of the new creations in Christ. Our God is a living God always at work: saving, protecting, guiding and disciplining His people. As children of God we should not fear if we pass through the water, He will be with us. If we walk through the fire , we will not be burned and even more shall the flame would not scorch us.
God also reminds the Israelites and also us not to remember the past with all its failure. He is always has something new. In this text Isaiah refers to Cyrus' command for the exiles to return to Jerusalem to build the temple. In the future there will be the restoration of all things when the Lord Jesus will reign for 1000 years.
Isaiah ends this chapter by saying although the Israelites sinned against God, the Lord chooses to save and forgive. This arises out of His own character.
Structure:
Verses 1-21: the redeemer of Israel
Verses 22-28: Pleading with unfaithful Israel
Principle 73, verse 43:1 “—Fear not for I have redeemed you. . I have called you by your name. You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”
Lesson 73: When God gives commands, He also gives the power to achieve these commands. "Fear not" is the solution of fear and anxiety in the troubled world.
Principle 74, verse 43:19 “-Behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?”
Lesson 74: God loves new things: new songs, new heavens, new earth, new names. We should not always look for Him to do in our lives what He has done before, but should learn. 23/01/2022
