Study From the Book of Isaiah,36

Study From the Book of Isaiah,36

Today is the thirty-sixth part of this series where we study chapter 40. And as usual we pick up a couple  biblical principle and  lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

Isaiah in chapter 40 prophesies about the Babylonian exiles in a prophylactic manner. This book of comfort was written 150 years before the time of Cyrus, promised the exiles from Judah that they would return to Jerusalem. He is also prophesies about the first coming of Jesus as a saviour. Isaiah then extends his vision to the second coming of the Lord Jesus when He reigns for 1000 years in the millennium when all flesh will bow before Him.

Structure:

Verses 1-31: God’s people are comforted.

Principle 67, verse 40:1 “- ‘Comfort yes, comfort My people,’ says your God.”

Lesson 67: Through a prophetic eye, Isaiah saw both the destruction of people and their eventual regathering and redemption. But even before the judgment fell, he prophesied of grace to come.

Principle 68: “-He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”

Lesson 68: Paul said, “When I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Cor.12:10).  He meant that the weakness of God is stronger than men-that is we become truly strong only when we depend on His strength. 26/12/2021
