Study From the Book of Isaiah,34

Study From the Book of Isaiah,34

Today is the thirty-fourth part of this series where we study chapter 38. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

In this chapter Hezekiah trusted God to heal him. This happened after Jerusalem’s deliverance from Assyrians. When Hezekiah fell ill and was told by Isaiah that this illness leads to death, he wept bitterly because apparently at that time he had no male heirs. Hezekiah lived an additional fifteen years. Manasseh, the successor in his throne was twelve when Hezekiah died.

Structure:

Verses 1-22: Hezekiah’s life extended.

Principle 64, verse 38:14 “- My eyes fail from looking upward. O Lord I am oppressed; undertake for me!”

Lesson 64: We shall not feel surprised if God seems delay in delivering us from some trouble. Sometimes He makes us wait longer than we think we can hold on. But genuine trust perseveres no matter what.

Principle 65, 38:17 “—Indeed it was for my own peace that I had great bitterness----"

Lesson 65: Adversity is a bridge to a deeper relationship with God. He brings bitterness into our lives only so that we can experience peace.12/12/2021
