Study From the Book of Isaiah,33
Today is the thirty-third part of this series where we study chapter 37. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
Isaiah validates his prediction that the Lord deliver the faithful remnant of Judah and destroy Assyrians. It starts by Sennacherib threatens King Hezekiah. Hezekiah prays to God. God sends message to the King concerning Sennacherib through Isaiah. The Lord sends an angle who killed 185,000 solders and Sennacherib himself was killed by his sons.
Structure:
Verses 1-7: Isiah assures deliverance.
Verses 8-20: Sennacherib's threat and Hezekiah’s prayer.
Verses 21-35: The word of the Lord concerning Sennacherib.
Verses 36-38: Sennacherib’s defeat and his death.
Principle 62, verse 37:10 ” Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, “Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you.”
Lesson 62: God will never deceive anyone, but His enemies will often try to His people that He is not worth trusting. This was Satan tactic in the Garden of Eden, and he still uses the same tactic today.
Principle 63, 37:20 “—How therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord, You alone.”
Lesson 63: Hezekiah prayed that God might act on Judah’s behalf so that the world might know that He is Lord. “He is and …He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Heb.11:6). 5/12/2021
