Study From the Book of Isaiah,3
Today is the third part of this series where we study chapter two. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
In chapter two, the prophet Isaiah talks about the Jerusalem temple at the time of the millennium when the Lord Jesus will resign physically for 1000 years, after the rupture of the Church, which is hinted by the statement, “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days.” In those days the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains and all nations will flow to it to learn God’s ways. The Lord will judge between the nations and rebuke many people. There would be no more wars as the weapons will be used in agriculture and other good purposes.
However the Day of The Lord starts by night when the Lord appears and the sinful people who refused Him will hide into the rock from the terror of the Lord and the glory of His majesty and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day as men will cast away their idols of silver and gold.
Structure:
Verses 1-4: the future house of God.
Verses 5-22: The Day of the Lord
Principle 3: verse 2:3: “---He will teach us His ways and we shall walk in His paths.”
Lesson 3: although this prophesy will happen in the latter days , there is a lesson for us today. God designed a life of faith to be a community affair. He teaches us His ways, so that we can walk in His paths. If I try to go it alone in my faith, I will never grow as God wants me to.
Principle 4: verse 2:17: “-The loftiness of man shall be bowed down and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day-“
Lesson 4: A day is coming when human pride and arrogance will be smashed forever and the entire world will acknowledge that God alone rules, As followers of Christ, we can anticipate that day by willingly humbling ourselves.2/5/2021
