Study From the Book of Isaiah,28
Today is the twenty-eighth part of this series where we study chapter 32. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
The sixth woe in this chapter concludes the prophecy about leadership. Prophet Isaiah extends his prophecy to the end of the age to the millennium when the Lord Jesus will reign for 1000 years. He will produce abundance and permanent security in contrast to the leaders in Isaiah's time who produce false security and desolation.
Structure:
Verses 1-8: A reign of righteousness
Verses 9-15: consequences of complacency
Verses 16-20: the peace of God’s reign.
Principle 52, verse 32:2 “-As rivers of water in a dry place, As the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.”
Lesson 52: the great Rock in the Bible refers to the Lord Jesus Christ who is our Rock, our Rock in the time of difficulties and distress. So, although this verse talks about the age to come in the future millennium, it has application for us today.
Principle 53, verse 32:17 “-the work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.”
Lesson 53: Again, this prophecy talks about the end of the age when the righteousness (the Lord Jesus) will reign in the millennium. However, it applies to us in the current time. As for us who get the righteousness through believing in the Lord Jesus, we have quietness and assurance of peace. 23/10/2021
