Study From the Book of Isaiah,23
Today is the twenty-third part of this series where we study chapter 27, where there are a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
Verse 1 in this chapter is the continuation of the previous idea that God will punish the serpent/ leviathan and do triumph over those who oppose Him. The rest of this chapter talks about the restoration of Israel, after been disciplined, with judgement of its oppressors with a promise that God will regather the exiles to Mount Zion.
Structure:
Verse 1: take refuge from the coming judjement
Verses 2-13: the restoration of Israel.
Principle 42, verse 27:2-3 “In that day sing to her. A vineyard of red wine, I, the Lord, keep it I water it every moment; lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day
Lesson 42: Isaiah here prophesied about Israel at the end of the age when the Lord will reign for 1000 years. However, we as a church on earth ,waiting for the second coming, this verse is a blessing for us. God meets our needs (water it every moment). Also protects us lest any hurt comes to us.
Principle 43, verse 27: 13“—So it shall be in that day: the great trumpet will be blown; They will come who are about to perish in the land of Assyria--.”
Lesson 43: Again, it is a prophecy about the millennium when the Lord Jesus will reign for 1000 year. But also we have a lesson for us now. When the gospel is preached, there is hope for those who are about to perish of sinners who return and believe in the Lord Jesus. 19/9/2021
