Study From the Book of Isaiah,2

Study From the Book of Isaiah,2

Today is the second part of this series where we study chapter one. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

After introducing himself, the prophet Isiah talks about the wickedness of Judah that warrant God’s judgement. However, there is a hope by repentance  “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they  are red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (verse). 18).

Structure:

Verses 1: introduction.

Verses 2-20: the wickedness of Judah.

Verses 21-31: the degenerate city.

Principle 1 verse 1:5: “-why should you be stricken again?”

Lesson 1: the lord wants to bless us for our obedience , not discipline us for our disobedience. So He urges us to turn from our sin and follow Him, so He can do good to us.

Principle 2: verse 1:18: “- Come now and let us reason together.”

Lesson 2: Dialogue builds relationships. Genuine prayer has all of the qualities and characteristics of deeply meaningful conversation between two people. The image of God and man sitting down together for a good talk is our best image of prayer.
