Study From the Book of Isaiah,11
Today is the eleventh part of this series where we study chapter ten. And as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In chapter 10, the prophet Isaiah continues to talk about the punishment of Samaria by the hand of Assyrians and the reason for that. He then talks about the judgment of Assyria as it became arrogant and they thought it was by their strength that they defeated Samaria. In fact, Assyria was a merely a tool in the hand of God to punish Samaria because of the latter’s sins that it commented against God.
Israel .not until now. does not return to God and Jerusalem remains ruins by the gentiles and there is no peace. Not until the millennium (when the Lord Jesus reigns for 1000 years after the rupture of the church and the tribulation and the great tribulation of 7 years ) when the remnant will return after they repent and accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
Structure:
Verses 1-4: continuation of the punishment of Samaria
Verses 5-19: Arrogant Assyria also judged
Verses 20-34: the returning remnant of Israel,
Principle 19, verse 10:15 : “---Shall the axe boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it?”
Lesson 19 : Any success we achieve, any accomplishment we make, we owe to the will and favour of God. As Paul asks, “For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive?” (1 Cor.4:7).
Principle 20: verse 10:25 “—For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease, as will My anger in their destruction.”
Lesson 20: The dark moments of our lives will last only so long as is necessary for God to accomplish His purpose in us. “His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life” (Ps. 30:5). 27/06/2021
