Study From the Book of Hosea,8
We are still in the second section of this rich book of the Scripture that deals with Israel sins and the prophetic consequences of those sins.
Principle 20:(9:17): “My God will cast them away, because they did not obey Him.”
Lesson 20: Nothing is worse than God casts His face from His people because of their sins. David cried out to God, after he had gone in to Bathsheba, in Psalm 51: 11 “Do not cast me away from your presence-”
Principle 21 (10:8):- “They shall say to the mountains, ‘cover us!’ and to the hills, ‘fall on us!’”
Lesson 21: Jesus quoted this verse as the Romans and the Jews led Him away to be crucified (Luke 23:30). And John recalls it in a future scene of divine judgement (Rev. 6:16). How much better to call on God now than on the tools of His judgment!
Principle 22 (10:13): “You have eaten the fruit of lies, because you trusted in your own way, in the multitude of your mighty men.”
Lesson 22: God wants us to put trust on Him and do not rely on our own understanding. “ A mighty man is not delivered by great strength” Ps 33:16).
