Study From the Book of Hosea,7

Study From the Book of Hosea,7

Just to remind ourselves that the book of Hosea was written mainly to the northern kingdom of Israel (the 10 tribes in the north), warning them about the serious consequences of sin, commanding them to repent and return to God. It has three sections. The first section is from 1 to 3 chapters talking about the apostasy of Israel symbolized in the prophet’s marriage to the prostitute Gomer. The second section is from chapter 4 to 13, to record Israel’s sins and the prophetic consequences of these sins. The last and briefest section of chapter 14, outlines God’s promised blessings for repentance in the future reign of the Lord Jesus at the end of the age at the millennium reign of the Lord.

For us as believers now, there is warning about the consequences of sins. But also  the spiritual blessings of the believers in the current  time before the second coming of the Lord when the believers repent of their sins willing to live in the Spirit obeying God’s commands.

We are still in the second section studying the consequences of sins

Principle 17(8:4)- “They set up kings, but not by Me...”

Lesson 17: God wants to be intimately involved in all details of our life, especially in the major decisions that shape our future. When Israel chose her kings without the God’s guidance, they ultimately regretted it.

Principle 18(8:7) - “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind...”

Lesson 18: If a person lives in sin, there will be no blessings and instead his work will be futile. This is the biblical principle of sowing and reaping. They sow wind and reap whirlwind. Rarely do we immediately suffer from our foolish action. But we do reap what we sow.-much more than we sow and later than we sow.

Principle 19 (9:5)- “ What will you do in the appointed day, and in the day of the feast of the Lord?”

Lesson 19: Never mistake the Lord’s great patience for acceptance of evil. When we knowingly step by step out of His will, He gives us chance after chance to turn back to Him. But if we never turn back, that road will eventually end.

The verse also warns us about the second coming of the Lord Jesus. He is coming soon, and we will meet Him in the Skey (the rupture of the church), folllowed by the geartest  feast of the Lord. So we should not mis it as there will be no U turn.
