Study From the Book of Hebrews,2

Study From the Epistle to Hebrews, 2

Today we continue in studying this epistle as we study chapter one and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

Chapter one is an iconic chapter because it talks about the Lord Jesus who is the brightness of God’s  glory and the expression image of His person. He is the creator of the universe and He is still in control of His creation.

Jesus is available to each believer and when he/she puts Him in the centre of their lives and their situation, they experience the joy and the peace that is only available when He is in the midst.

Structure:

Verse 1:4: God’s supreme revelation.

Verse 5: 13: the Son exalted above angles.

Principle 1: verse 1:8: “-But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Your kingdom.”

Lesson 1: Every now and then, the Book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is God in the flesh. Jesus is to be worshiped as God, praised as the Creator, recognized as Ruler and glorified as God’s only Son.

Principle 2, verse 1:14: “-Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who inherit salvation.”

Lesson 2: the angles, we may not see most of their activity, but God has given His angles the job of “ministering” to us. We may never know how often an angle spared us from injury, guided us to safety, or engineered some success.    5/4/2020
