Study From the Book of Galatians,3
Today is the third part of the series, “Study From the Book of Galatians,” where we study chapter two of this vital letter of Paul to the churches at Galatie. As usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
As mentioned in chapter one, Paul went straight to denounce the false teaching which invaded the Christian faith that the believers had to obey the Law of Moses and become Jewish first before becoming Christians. In this chapter,Paul also went far to rebuke the behaviour of the apostle Peter when he behaved in a hypocrite way.
In this chapter, we have two main topics:
Principle 3, verse 2:19: “For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.”
Lesson 3: When we trust in Jesus and so win an eternal place at God’s side, we do not violate the law of Moses or somehow get around it. Jesus fulfilled the whole law and by identifying with Him in His death and resurrection, we do too.
Principle 4, verse 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith.”
Lesson 4: the secret to the Christian life is to allow Jesus Christ to live in and through us, by faith. When we invite and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our life, we become a vital representative of Christ. 24/3/2019
