Study From the Book of Galatians,1
Galatia is a group of cities in Asia Minor to include Antioch of Bithynia, Iconium, Lystra, Derbe and Tarsus.
The churches of Galatia were diverted to a new course based on works. So Paul’s letter to them was a vigorous attack against the gospel of works and a defence of the gospel of grace. We are saved and been justified not by works, but by faith in Jesus Christ.
Themes: A defence of the doctrine of justification by faith in Jesus Christ.
Author: The apostle Paul
Date: scholars differ in this respect. Some says Paul wrote his letter AD 53-54 to the north –central Asia in his second journey. Others declare that he wrote his letter to southern Galatia around AD 48-49, in his first Journey which would make this Paul’s first biblical letter.
