Study From the Book of the First Thessalonians,5
Today is the fifth part of this series where we study chapter 4, and as usual we pick up a couple ob biblical principles that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In chapter four Paul continues in his advice to the Thessalonians. The most import of all is to keep purity and be away from sexual immorality. It is more than advice but a command from God.
He then asked them also to live in a brotherly and orderly life in a way to please God. He then talk about the main topic of this epistle which is the rupture and the second coming of our Lord, when the dead will be raised first in a glorified bodies followed by us who are still alive( I hope).
The structure of this chapter is as follow:
Principle 7: “—that you also aspire to lead a quiet life. To mind your own business and to work with your hands---“
Lesson 7: The Christian life is not a nonstop parade of miracles and astonishing answers to prayer and extraordinarily visions and angelic visitations(although it can be). However, much of it is low-key, tame, and ordinary. Yet godly life will always be celebrated in heaven.
Principle 8: “-- For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout , with the voice of an archangel, and with trumpet of God . And the dead in Christ will rise first.”
Lesson: this amazing passage describes the moment when the Lord returns for His church , when those who are alive will go directly into his presence, but after the dead in Christ who will go first and all will receive their glorified bodies.
