Study From teh Book of First Cornithians,2

Study From the Book of 1 Corinthians,2

Today we study chapter one of another vital epistle of the apostle Paul and as usual we will pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Chapter 1 has three main topics as follows:

  1. From verse one to 9: he starts with greetings
  2. From verse 10 to 17: Division   is sin
  3. From Verse 18 to 24: Christ is the power and wisdom of God
  4. Verse 25 to 31: glory only in the Lord

Principle 1 verse 1:2:  “- to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints—“

Lessons 1:  Paul here is not flattering the members of church of Corinth or telling lies about them even he knows their weakness and sins. But he describes them in Christ. They are believers and in Jesus are sanctified- set part to God and released from the power of sin- and therefore called saints – a holy member of God’s family, “Zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:14).

Principle 2  verse 1:27 – “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty—“

Lesson 2: God loves to use the weak, despised and inconsequential things, people and events to demonstrate His majesty, so “that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” (2 Cor.4:7). 5/8/2018
