Study From the First Corinthians,16

Study From the Book of First Corinthians,16

Today we study chapter 15 of this vital Epistle of Paul and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

Chapter 15 is a golden chapter where the apostle Paul talks about the resurrection and the hope of every believer when he/she dies, his /her soul will go straight to a waiting place awaiting for the resurrection. The dead first then who are still alive will join at the final call  of the rupture of the church.

In chapter 15, the apostle Paul talks about five topics:

  1. Verse 1 to 11: the risen Christ , faith reality
  2. Verse 12 to verse 19: the risen Christ our hope.
  3. Verse 20 to 34: the last enemy destroyed
  4. Verse 35 to 49: the glorious body
  5. Verse 50 to 58: Our final victory

Principle 29, verse 15:17 “And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins!”

Lesson 29: The physical bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is essential to the truth and power of the gospel. There is no Christianity without His resurrection.

Principle 30 verse 15:58: “- therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Lesson 30: Our work for God has value and meaning for at least two reasons:

  1. God is the One behind it empowering us through His Spirit.
  2. He promises to reward us incredibly well for our faithful service.
