Study From the Book of First Corinthians,11

Study From the Book of First Corinthians,11

Today we study chapter 10 of this vital Epistle of Paul  and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

In chapter 10, the apostle Paul talks about three main topics:

  1. Examples from the Old Testament: from verse 1 to 13
  2. Flee from idolatry:  from verse 14 to 22
  3. He gives all the glory to God : from verse 23 to 33

Principle 19, verse 10:6,11:”- Now these things became our examples....Now all these things happened to them  as examples , and they were written for our admonition...”

Lesson 19: Paul  stresses that everything in the Scripture exists for our example, warning and admonition. We are to note what God’s people did in the past and how they reacted to them in order to move ahead in our walk of faith.

Principle 20 verse 10:13: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful , who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Lesson 20; God knows our limitation and our weakness. So when we are tempted, He puts such temptation within limits, so it would not overwhelmed us. His wisdom is beyond our understating. Just we need to trust in Him.
